Lovable rascals

Lisa, if I ever stop loving violence, I want you to shoot me.

Basil brush character is my favourite rascal. The British puppet from the 1970’s is best know for his famous punchline BOOM BOOM! He is loud, naughty and always cracking jokes. His mischievous look created mostly by the almost manic smile with wide open eyes. His energetic posturing is helped by his ears always pointing forward. Created by Peter Firmin, Basil is based on the actor Terry Thomas.

Ginger Meggs character is a favourite rascal because he is the hero to kids by being bad but not evil. The scruffy appearance and red hair are good attributes to the rascal character. The big eyes and expressive eyebrows also contributes to the design.I like him because the setting is quintessentially Australian, inner Sydney depression era. Ginger Megg is forever being innovative on ways to have fun.  Created in 1924, Ginger Megs has been drawn by four artists after the death of its creator, Jimmy Bancks, in 1952

Footrot flats character is a favourite rascal because he saves the farmer from situations by being innovative and resourceful. We laugh at Murray Ball’s creation of the dog being the brilliant coward. The border collie breed is drawn with the his ears down and expressive eyes telling the story. The posture is confidant, ever ready for action.

Donkey character is a favourite rascal because he is street smart and saves the innocent shriek because of it.His big teeth and expressive eyes contribute to his persuasive personality. Created by Disney Dreamworks the talkative Donkey is an endearing mischievous character.

Bart Simpson character is a favourite rascal because of the mix of naivety and confidence. He is very good at being very bad. Cartoonist Matt Groening created the name Bart from the anagram brat.To achieve the look of being naughty but nice Barts face has big eyes and somewhat punk hair cut.

I’ve done a lot of bad stuff through the years. Now I’m paying the price but there’s so many things I’ll never get a chance to do: smoke a cigarette, use a fake I.D., shave a swear word in my hair… (Sniffling)
